Delivery Information

Delivery Information Christmas 2024

Please order by midnight on Tuesday 10th December to ensure delivery before Christmas.  We may bring this date forward if necessary, to enable us to complete orders in time for delivery by Christmas.

Although we are unable to guarantee a specific delivery day over the Christmas period, you can choose your preferred delivery week from the following options.  However, orders under 1kg (which are generally under £20 excluding delivery) will be dispatched early in December.  We will assume that if a specific week is not selected you are happy to take delivery as soon as soon as we are able to dispatch.  When your order has been dispatched, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you have provided.

Week 1:  Week commencing 25th November

Week 2:  Week commencing 2nd December

Week 3-4: Week commencing 9th December onwards

How to add your preferred delivery week to your order

  1. Click on the line which says:

"Enter your gift message & any special delivery instructions here”.

You will see this under the picture each time you add a product to your cart.

  1. Add any special delivery instructions such as preferred delivery week or when the order is needed by. You can include additional information here such as a “safe place” where the parcel can be left if there is no one in. If your order is for a gift & you would like a card message including, you can add this here too.
  2. When you have done this, click the grey “Update Cart” box BEFORE you click either the “Continue shopping” box or “Check Out”. This will save any information you have added.

If you have room in your fridge to store your cheese, we recommend you order & take delivery early in December.  By this time, all cheeses, including soft cheeses such as Dales Brie & blues will be dated into the 2025.  The waxed truckles with 2025 “Best Before” dates will be available from 4th November.

Delivery information all year round

We are currently using Royal Mail's tracked 24 service for the majority of our deliveries & occasionally DHL for larger parcels.  If the tracked 24 service is unavailable we may use 1st class post.  Small orders consisting solely of items which do not require refrigeration such as chutneys, crackers & fruit cakes will be sent by Royal Mail's tracked 48 service. 

Although we use a next day delivery service for cheese orders, this is an aim and not a guarantee. There can sometimes be delays & we recommend that if your order is for a special occasion, please order in good time & let us know when your order is needed by.

We recommend that someone is available to accept the parcel at the delivery address but do let us know if there is a safe place where it can be left & we can add these instructions when we book the delivery service.

Tracking information is usually sent to the email given on the order.

A contact phone number will be required in addition to the delivery address and if not provided may result in delays in the event of an attempted delivery. We would like to make it clear that any phone numbers given to us will only be used if necessary in relation to a specific order or delivery and for no other purpose.

We regret that we are not able to deliver to B.F.P.O or P.O. addresses or outside of the UK.

Please note that in the event of severe weather or circumstances, deliveries may be delayed, but we will do our best to keep customers informed.

UK delivery

The Royal Mail delivery service enables us to send orders to all parts of the UK including Northern Ireland.  Occasionally delivery can take a little longer to outlying areas.

Delivery Charges

All orders (unless specified above) are subject to our standard delivery charge of £5.00.

Local deliveries: We are currently doing FREE deliveries in Leeming Bar & our surrounding villages.  A minimum order of £10 applies.

Delivery Days and Times
For most of the year & subject to availability, orders will be dispatched between Monday & Thursday.

Bank Holidays

There will be no dispatches or deliveries on bank holidays.

Delivery Packaging
Unless you have chosen one of our cheese gifts or created your own cheese gift, items will be delivered in a plain box only. All cheese gift items for courier or postal delivery will be securely packed in a plain outer box or padded packaging in addition to gift packaging.
